Anyway, I’ve been stumbling a bit this morning and came across some fun stuff:

I really think this video captures how radically insane this movie, not to mention the original story is, and after watching it about 3 or 4 times, my brain was turned into a slightly gooey substance.

So what have I done today, well I had this urge about getting a server up and running, so I tore apart my own computer, threw it all into my server cabinet along with 6 hard drives and some extra hardware and booted it up. Now usually I’m kind of used to having a computer running in the house, with the little extra noise it carries, but after booting up this monster, I’m seriously considering getting some noise killing hardware, because this sounds like a freaking jet plane taking off…
Biggest issue is the BIOS fan, which seems to be dented and thereby making a hell of allot of noise by itself. I know that without it, the noise is not as annoying (all tough still there mind you), but the graphics card is of course OVER the damn fan, and there’s not that many fan less coolers that actually will fit underneath it. Which means I’ll have to get a fan either way, and still have to live with some noise from it.
As for placing the thing, has also become and issue. Either I will place it in the hallway (as long as I can get it more or less noiseless, Alina is cool with it), or in the attic. Which means I’ll have to pull a power cord and a network cable up there from our apartment. I’m not sure if I’m allowed or can be bothered to do it to be honest, but I’ll try to figure something out.

For now I’m at my laptop and I’m probably going to use that until I get myself some new hardware so I can throw together a new computer. It’s of course just as noisy, but at least I have something to use for now.

The rest of this day is basically unplanned. I’m heading into town shortly to meet up with MartinH and get a ScummVM collection I made some years ago, seeing as I managed to break my own. Then I’ll check out the library, and probably head back home. I might also go visit Elin at her new place later, but that depends on if Alina wants to eat dinner when she gets back or not. We’ll see what happens =)

After some work with the almighty ductape and some cardboard, I managed to attach the webcam to my window and aim it towards the road. See on Saturday I had a quick trip to Clas Ohlson, and I got this bright idea about getting a 5 meter long USB extension cord, so I could put my webcam anywhere I wanted. Thus I was able to put the cam in the window.

So the cam was up, and everything is running smoothly, so I decided I’d might as well place it on this mainpage as well. Got this javascript running and everything, so the image on the right actually updates every 30 sec without loading the rest of the site, which is pretty cool.

Once I’ve recorded an entire day in pictures I’ll make a stop-motion video of it and post it here for all to see. Safe to say it’s pretty fun seeing all the cars, people and the different shades of light. Only problem I’ve had so far is that wen it snows allot (like it does now) the cam has problems catching the light properly, and it gets very dark. And when its very bright outside, the cam can’t dim the light and everything gets very bright.
I’ll probably experiment a bit with that later, but it works ok for now.

I also put together my old computer parts, and tried to get a new server working, but it seems the graphics card is busted, so I have to get a “new” one somewhere. If anyone got some old card lying around, do let me know! I’d love to get this computer up and running again. It’s probably just going to be a simple server for me to play with for now, but there’s not much I can do with no display :p

As for this night, man I had the worst toothache ever….We went to sleep around 12′o clock, and by then my toothache really hurt, so I tried to sleep for about half an hour, but finally it was just too much. So I 2 ibux and went back, but after another 10 minutes, I figured the best would be to just get up and walk around for a bit. To get the pills to work quicker. They started working around 1:30, but by then I felt pretty awake, so i stayed up for another 1 and 1/2 hours just starting torrents and playing around on the Interwebs.
So yeah, I really need to get to the dentist and get this fixed. I was at the dentist the other day, but paying 900kr just to check my teeth, and get to know how much it would be to fixed it, really scared me off…
Still, this pain is just too much to bare, so I’ll probably try to get an appointment before I head home and get the bad tooth pulled out. It will probably set me back around 1000/1200kr, but I can’t go around eating painkillers all the time, I’ll be a drug addict if I continue.

Seeing as I didn’t get much sleep last night, I called work and asked if I were set up to work today, which I wasn’t, so thankfully I could go back to sleep and get a few more hours of shuteye.

Right now I’m waiting for Alina to send me a text, and let me know that she’s done cutting and colouring her hair, so I can go meet up with her at Solsiden. I’m very excited to see how it looks :)

Not much new since Sunday, other than that yesterday was an really ok day at work, everything went smooth and the day was over even before i was aware that it had begun.
Today on the other hand, work was not as pleasant. I mean sure, the first part was nice. Most of it I spent sorting papers and crossing out on lists for some busses, but the second part mostly consisted of doing the same crap survey I´ve been doing for the past week now. Asking people with big egoes about their leadership, how they think they should get payed and how they treat their emplyees. So safe to say, the last 3 hours went painfully slow.

Hopefully I´ll be put on something a bit different tomorrow, but I highly doubt it. On Thursday I will probably work double shift as well, at least until 19:00, just so I can earn a bit of extra money before the paycheck arrives. I tried getting extra for today and tomorrow as well, but they didn´t need any, so.

Plans now are, raid a couple of Bottomprice stores, then head home, have dinner, and either go visit Elin and steal some coffee, or go meet Alina once she´s done with her Spanish class. We´ll see how things fare :)

After some rather painful minutes of walking, we end up at the station 08:24, run to the train and jump on. Turns out the train was 5 minutes delayed however, so we got some time to catch our breath and say our goodbyes.
So, catching the train was one thing, finding my seat an entirely different matter. I stumble around the the train trying to find my seat, and after a while find it. Turns out there’s this woman sitting in my seat, she excuses herself of course and scuttles along down the corridor to her assigned seat. After sitting there for a while, a new woman appears, claiming that the window seat is her seat. As the gentleman I am, I of course let her have the seat. Just for the hell of it, I check my ticket again. 69 window it says. Anyway, I’m not the one to quarrel, so I let her have it.

Well, sitting around bored on trains is really not my thing, so I wanted to know if there was any comfort seats available (That’s the ones with extra comfy seats, a power outlet and some coffee), but alas no, they were all taken. And I had even brought my computer and everything…ah well. So I end up sitting next to previously mentioned lady and twiddle thumbs. After a while I fall asleep, and wake up 2 hours later. Great! First time in ever I’ve actually managed to sleep on a train.

With some good sleep to my eyes, I want to read something. So i finish up my “The Invisibles” comic, then start on the “Stardust” book by Neil Gaiman. After quite some hours, totally mesmerized in the book, it´s finished! Woah, I mean the start was pretty slow, but the last part, oh joy! I can’t wait to watch the movie now. Actually, I even started reading it a second time on the train from Oslo to Skien, just because it was that good.

And this has to be said, the trains between Oslo and Skien are getting worse and worse by the year! I mean, the train I went with today must have been pre-WW2!, it was in army green and beige inside, with horrible seats and the toilets was old as dust. It’s only a matter of years before they simply close down that line completely. Makes kind of sense though, the last hour before I came into Skien, I was the only one on the train…

So, now I´m at my mom and step dads place. They set in a new bed which is twice the size of the old one, and twice as comfy. We have ironed our shirts and pants, and we’re all ready to go around 9:30 tomorrow for the funeral.
Apparently I’m the one waling in from, carrying the casket with my uncle.. Hope I don´t screw it up :s

Now I really need to get some sleep. Horribly tired and getting up fairly early tomorrow. I’ll probably post a new post tomorrow evening after we’re all done.

I must say I was amazed as to how fun it looked when the sun was rising and my room became brighter and brighter, not to mention seeing myself running around like a madman or just sitting in front of my computer looking all spastic.

I will no doubt make more of these as time goes by. I also have some plans with timelapse and the upcoming alphabet party the 27 of October ;)

I had a trip to Sonans yesterday and had a chat with the canceler i was talking about, but for some reason he was sure i had to go 2 years in order to get generell studiekompetanse. Now, i find it a bit odd then that when i was going to Nidaros private skole og kompetansesenter, they said i could finish it in one year…. So i will be contacting another canceler soon to get a second opinion, because frankly, I find it a bit too strange that i have to go 2 years to finish.

Anyway, I should be going soon. Heading for work to interview people about the climatic changes we’re having…. Takes about 2-3 minutes per interview though, so I don’t get that many upset people. Still, asking the same questions for 5 hour straight really sucks. Thankfully i have a book of Penny Arcade comics with me which i read a strip or two before each interview, so I manage.

Advancing in the game seems slightly harder then other MMORPG’s I’ve tried before, but I’m sure that after a couple of weeks of playing I’ll get the hang of it, and maybe even venture into endgame in about 40-50 levels.

Hopefully I’ll not get as addicted to this as i did with WoW, but from what I’ve seen so far, it’s a real fun game, social and a great learning curve, so who knows :)

And by the way, yesterday we didn’t end up going to café, meeting people and buying stuff on solsiden as planned, we ended up sitting on the computer lab until 11′o clock before we started heading home. Alina really needed to just finish “one” more before we were going to head home. Thanks to Erlend who saved the day, otherwise we’d probably stayed all night :s

Plans for the rest of the day involves (hopefully) café with some friends, then head to Alinas place to pack stuff and get the room ready for whomever the person moving in tomorrow is. We’ll see what happens, planning is really not my strong side :p
