After using Alina’s old laptop for quite some time, I decided I’d invest in a new computer. After some browsing, consulting friends, back to browsing and getting a few opinions, I ended up with this setup:
MB: MSI K9A2 Platinum – 900,-
CPU: AMD ATHLON 64 X2 5000+ 2.6GHZ – 519,-
RAM: OCZ TECH OCZ Gold XTC 4096MB DDR2 – 661,-
HD: SAMSUNG SpinPoint F1 750GB – 697,-
VGA: PINE/XFX XFX GF 9600GSO 384MB – 658,-
Shipping: 125,-
Wich turns into a grand total of: 3 560,-
The rest of the components I need, I have in the attic. I was going to get a new case and monitor as well, but I figured I’d might as well save some money by using my old hardware instead.
I had a bit of a shock early this morning though. See I ordered it last night, and everything seemed ok. They had all the units I needed in storage, and my order went trough with flying colours.
Today though, I noticed that they were out of stock on the RAM I ordered. Thinking that maybe they wouldn’t be able to ship my parcel, so I sent them a mail asap asking if my package would be sent. Thankfully I got a reply right away saying my parcel had been packed and ready to be sent out with all the pieces I ordered.
So, it might seem my computer will be arriving either tomorrow or on Friday. I’m really psyched about finally getting a computer that responds right away and doesn’t have a big white line across the screen… Also , I might actually be able to play some games again.
